Dražen Bobinac

Dražen Bobinac (1953. – 2010.) – političar,rođen u Otočcu. Široj javnosti postaje poznat po svojoj političkoj karijeri, u osvit demokratskih promjena se angažira u HDZ-u, jedan je od osnivača prvog odbora HDZ-a za području Gacke, Like i Krbave u siječnju 1990. Na prvima demokratskim izborima izabran za zastupnika u Vijeće općina Sabora. Po sistemu reprezentacije bio je hrvatski zastupnik u Vijeću republika i pokrajina tadašnje SFRJ. U kasnijim izborima bio je saborski zastupnik u još tri mandata. Aktivno je uključen u obranu domovine u Gackoj, dobio je čin brigadira. 1993. izabran je za prvogaotočkoga gradonačelnika, tu dužnost obnašaoje u tri mandata. Lik su izradili kipar Šime Vidulin iz Pule i akademski kipar Ivan Briski iz Zagreba.;


Dražen Bobinac (1953–2010) – A politician, born in the town of Otočac. He became known to a wider public through his political career, his engagement in the Croatian Democratic Union at the beginning of the democratic changes. In January 1990, he is one of the founders of the first committee of the Croatian Democratic Union for the regions of Gacka, Lika, and Krbava. In the first democratic elections he was elected a representative in the Council of Municipalities. He was the Croatian representative in the Council of Republics and Provinces of the then Yugoslavia. In the elections that followed he was elected a representative in the Croatian National Parliament for three more terms in office. He was actively involved in the defense of his homeland in the Gacka region, which earned him the rank of colonel. In 1993 he was elected the first Mayor of the City of Otočac. He performed the duty of the Mayor and served three terms in office. The bas-relief sculpture was created by both Šime Vidulin, a sculptor from Pula, Croatia, and Ivan Briski, a sculptor from Zagreb.
